Nail and Thread Art: Create an Original Decoration

To make our wooden decoration, you'll need: yarn / cotton thread, small nails, and a wooden board.

For the base, we chose a Tavola wooden board, and sketched the prepared motif onto it with a pencil. We chose the colors based on the reference, but you can let your imagination run free. We went with a large yarn set with 24 different shades.

Once you've drawn the motif, hammer small nails into the board. Depending on the spacing you choose, the coverage will be denser or more open. We chose a spacing of 15 mm. Be sure not to hammer the nails all the way in to the heads (feel free to use the picture for inspiration).

At the beginning, tie the yarn to a nail with a knot, then weave the motif however you like. Remember to wrap the yarn around the outline of the motif too, to emphasize the shape of the decoration.

Tip: Tip: For a neat result, try to follow a regular pattern as you weave.

You can change colors as you like, but keep in mind that the new color will form the surface of the picture.
