Quick Guide to Folk Easter Eggs (or a Last-Minute Easter Scramble)

A Quick Guide to Decorating Traditional Easter Eggs Before Easter

A Quick Guide to Folk Easter Eggs (or a Last-Minute Rush Before Easter...)

To make Easter eggs, get these supplies ready:

Use the foam brush to apply a delicate decorative paint to the polystyrene egg. The paint has excellent coverage and dries to a soft matte finish. You’ll find lots of beautiful Provencal shades in the selection. I chose classic white.

Cut out your printed motif, secure the edges with tape, and use a cotton swab to apply a small amount of transfer solution (the less you use, the prettier the pattern will turn out). Then rub the paper several times with the small spatula, taking care not to let it shift.

Ta-da! The pattern is transferred. Revealing the pattern is the best part of this whole technique. I’m always curious to see how the print turned out.

I also added a pattern around the edge of the Easter eggs using contour paint. It created a beautiful raised, glossy pattern.

One more look at all the decorated eggs. I decorated each one with a different motif, so every egg is one of a kind. What do you think? Feel free to share your ideas, too.

Wishing you a beautiful, traditionally unconventional Easter :)

Yours, Ingrid
